What's Happening @ FYFB
It's cold outside!
Read more about what FYFB's friends are doing to warm hearts and raise spirits and ways you can help those in need at this most challenging time of year.
With less than one month to go, the Winter Relief Fund is close to its $37,000 goal. Through our generous friends, we raised over $12,000 in February, bringing our current total to more than $26,000. Heartfelt thanks to February's lead donors, the Sue Cox Community Action Fund, administered by Daily Bread Food Bank and a private Toronto foundation.
With your help, we can raise the final $10,000 FYFB requires to continue meeting the urgent needs of our clients during our busiest time of the year. By clicking here you can send an e-mail to up to 10 friends telling them about the good work FYFB does in our community and inviting them to donate. One lucky participant will receive an original painting from Canadian artist Jason Alexander.
FYFB Clients Connect to the Information Superhighway
The Computer Resource Centre at FYFB gives clients access to the Internet and so much more. A dedicated team of volunteers led by Jon Alexander helps clients with everything from basic computer skills to job searches.
FYFB Elects New Directors at AGM
FYFB members elected two new directors - Erica Day Tasevski and Ryan Dzierniejko - at the February 21st Annual General Meeting. The eight current directors agreed to serve another term on the Board. Board Chair Ravi Sreedharan thanked the many volunteers, donors and partners who helped FYFB meet the urgent needs of clients over the past year. The Friends of FYFB will be blitzing downtown subway stations on Wednesday, April 4 from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m for our annual TTC fundraising and awareness campaign.
Have you signed up to volunteer?
If your office has a community involvement mandate, raising funds and building awareness for FYFB at a subway station near you with your co-workers would be a great way to fulfill it.
Once again FYFB is inviting you to a fun night of bowling with your friends and colleagues to support FYFB's work. Mark your calendar for Thursday, May 31 and get your team together.
