What's Happening @ FYFB

"Raptor-ous" Christmas

Raptors Foundation Presents FYFB With Donation

The wives, girlfriends and relatives of the Toronto Raptors players set the pace off the court this past holiday season as the lead donor to Fort York Food Bank (FYFB)'s annual Holiday Fund Appeal when they presented a $5,000 cheque from the Raptors Foundation.

Holiday Fund Appeal: Best. Year. Ever.

The Holiday Fund Appeal raised a record amount through the season. In December, FYFB provided more than 2,300 hot meals through our community kitchen, more than 18,000 meals through our emergency food baskets and helped more than 2,200 clients including 413 children. Several corporations brought groups of employees to volunteer and made donations as well.

Thank you to: CHUM Christmas Wish Foundation, Franklin Templeton, The Printing House, Price Waterhouse Coopers, HSBC Corporation Limited and Osler, Hoskin and Harcourt. Thank you to everyone who donated during the campaign -- you made a difference for Toronto families over the holiday season.

Five Days of Christmas

FYFB wants to thank the many wonderful volunteers and donors who helped FYFB's clients to have a Merry Christmas. Special thanks go out to Chai Kosher Poultry and Second Harvest who helped FYFB offered four days of fabulous Christmas meals, sharing the spirit of the season. Our cook also got a well-deserved break from cooking turkeys when local law firm Osler, Hoskin and Harcourt sponsored a catered hot turkey luncheon on December 13 for more than 150 of FYFB's clients.

Winter Relief Fund

Torontonians felt the icy blast of cold weather earlier this year and winter is an extremely challenging time for FYFB as we strive to meet the increased needs of our clients.
